Thornleigh Golf Centre
The Thornleigh Golf Centre offers an unique golf driving range includes 56 floodlit bays, 20 of them on the ground level are equipped with full auto tee-up and two 18 hole mini golf courses offering hours of entertainment for the whole family. Location – 2.6km from the apartments.
Built on a steep hillside, the Lisgar gardens' different levels were created by the construction of sandstone block walls. The gardens have a vast variety of rhododendrons, azaleas, gardenias and other exotics in harmony with native trees and ferns, highlighting the seventy two varieties of camellias. Some of the original camellias still exist in the gardens today and are now over fifty years old. The gardens now boast over ninety varieties of camellias, a covered pavilion for weddings and other celebrations, a shade house containing the fish ponds, a gazebo, three waterfalls, informal lawn areas, picnic tables, and a rainforest walk. Berowa Valley National Park
This large park occupies the beautiful bushland valley between the suburbs of Hornsby Heights, Thornleigh, Galston, Pennant Hills and Cherrybrook, reaching up to the quiet waters of Berowra Creek. Covering a 25km stretch of the Great North walk, the park offers more than 70km of walking tracks and fire trails. If you’d rather enjoy nature at a slower pace, enjoy a picnic or barbecue at Crosslands Reserve, so close to the suburbs and yet so far from the speed of daily life. Berowra Creek is a great spot for some canoeing or kayaking, and there are some good places to dangle your line overboard - you might be lucky enough to catch some lunch. Fagan Park in Galston is the biggest recreational area in Hornsby Shire with 55 hectares of land to explore. Generously donated as public land by the pioneering Fagan family, this site is steeped in history, with the original homestead Netherby Cottage still preserved and available to visit. Explore the gorgeous Gardens of Many Nations, let your kids run free at the two large playgrounds, take a short bushwalk, ride your bike, or learn about sustainable food at the Eco Garden. Galston Valley Railway
Galston Valley Railway are a model engineering club near Hornsby and regularly welcome public visitors to the Railway on public running days. These are on the 2nd Sunday in each month with Gates opening at 9:30 and train rides from 10am to 3pm. The trains run on a 1km miniature railway throughout the natural bush setting and operate continually throughout the day. They generally have a mix of steam and “diesel” models running on the day. Just 45 minutes from the centre of Sydney is the secluded waterway enclave of Berowra Waters. The Berowra Waters Ferry, a toll-free car ferry, connects the east bank from Berowra Waters Road to the west bank where Bay Road takes you on to the rural district of Galston. Picturesque Berowra Waters is a grand place for picnickers, fishers, boat enthusiasts, kayakers and features some world renowned eateries specialising in seafood and fine dining. When you journey across Berowra Creek on the famous Berowra Waters Vehicular Ferry you will marvel at the riverside cottages nestled in the bushland at the water’s edge of this unique community. Thornleigh Brick Pitt Sports Stadium
Commonly known as the Brick Pitt Sports Stadium and right next door to the Thornleigh Golf Centre, this sports stadium features on site parking, a large skate ramp section, sports courts including basketball, netball, volleyball and a driving range, a park with equipment, picnic tables and a flying fox. The Brickpit is home to many different sports and clubs, such as table tennis coaching or competitions, exercise programs and soccer for pre-schoolers, boxing and Pilates classes and also a bridge club. Located on the Central Coast of NSW, approximately 40 minutes north of Wahroonga is the award winning Australian Reptile Park, renowned to be a great family fun day out.
